Programs and Resources
APPE organizes conferences and symposia that cover the full-range of topics in applied and professional ethics. Sessions at the Annual Meeting target ethical issues in specific discipline areas such as business, engineering, government, journalism, law, medicine, research, science, and many others.
In addition, the Annual Meeting also includes programs of interest to those who work in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary fields cutting across professions such as bioethics, environment, health care, higher education, and research ethics.

APPE is a dynamic organization that facilitates and supports opportunities for members to collaborate and learn from one another individually and within special interest groups such as business, journalism, engineering, the responsible conduct of research, and social work ethics.
The Ethics Center Colloquium at the Annual Meeting showcases the work being done by programs in practical and professional ethics across the country and throughout the world. Ethics Center Directors share materials, program activities, and plans for the future. APPE Ethics Center Directors provide an invaluable resource for collaboration and mentorship throughout the entire Association.
A core mission of the Association is to advance and support the next generation of scholars and practitioners in practical and professional ethics. The Annual Meeting honors the creative work being done by scholars and professionals in ethics and each year awards prizes for the best papers submitted by early career scholars, graduate students, undergraduate students, and those working in the area of pre-college ethics. APPE also conducts a seminar on Teaching Ethics specifically targeted to graduate students.
In addition to programs, APPE’s Website provides members with up-to-date announcements of events and programs occurring nationally and around the world, a career placement service listing job openings in higher education, government service, and the professions, and links to other websites of interest. The website is revised and updated continually with new services being added to improve communications and dialogue among ethics professionals.
